14 weeks - (baby #2) SECOND TRIMESTER!!

How far along: 14 Weeks - Hello second trimester!! And Happy Halloween! (PS - I'm supposed to be Juno for Halloween in the picture)
Maternity clothes: I bought a new pair of jeans and jean shorts - I may look ridiculous, but boy are the comfortable!
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Sleep is good, so long as I take Dyclegis #addicted
Best moment of the week: I've had so much fun with Harper this week. Her personality is really starting to shine. We went to MGM (Disney's Hollywood Studios) this week and watched a bunch of shows. My favorite was the Frozen Sing-a-long show. Watching this little girl sing along to the songs made me tear up. Maybe it's the hormones, but I think it's because I'm witnessing this tiny baby I gave birth to just yesterday (or so it feels like) turn into a little human right before my eyes. This week we also went to Green Meadows petting zoo, and Harper just loved touching, feeding, and holding the animals. Finally, this weekend I brought out my giant box full of my old Barbies and accessories. She is in love! I had to pinch myself as I sat in her room, surrounded by toys as I played with Barbie with my daughter. Harper is definitely a girly girl and I absolutely adore this stage.
Worst moment of the week: None
Running/Workouts: This weekend I ran 8 miles on Saturday and 6 miles on Sunday, for a total of 30 miles this week. This was my last longish runs before the half-marathon next week. It's not pretty but I'm hopeful I'll finish next weekend...
Missing anything: No
Movement: No
Things that make me queasy: I had felt pretty good this week. I actually seem to feel worst in the evenings, but overall I'm feeling good.
Energy level: Pretty tired. When I take a step back and look, I don't know if it's the pregnancy or if it's life...finishing my Doctorate (graduating in 46 days!!!), finishing clinical hours, work, holidays, being a mom to a 2 year old, being a wife, and trying to spend as much one on one time with Harper. So it's a very rewarding exhaustion for sure!
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding ring on or off: On
Mood: Happy
Looking forward to: Going to Savannah, Georgia this week for the half marathon. Harper will be staying home with my Mom, so this will be our first time leaving Harper.
Something surprising about being pregnant with baby #2: I am happy we made it to the second trimester. From what I remember from last time, the first trimester drags on the longest, and the last two fly by. Even with all the nausea, exhaustion and discomforts, I absolutely LOVE being pregnant. Love it. I am trying to hard to savor every single second.

13 weeks (baby #2)

How far along: 13 Weeks!
Maternity clothes: Still just a few things here or there
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: My insomnia was so bad (waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to fall back asleep for 2+ hours) that I decided to keep taking Diclegis, but just one at night for the sleep benefits. Guess I could just take Unisom....
Best moment of the week: It's been nice now that everyone knows I'm pregnant. No more hiding or lying. And of course, the amount of love and support we've received from so many people is just unbelievable. This weekend I also took Harper to Seaward for their Halloween Spooktacular event  - Harper was Nemo, I was Darla! It was such a fun day and the weather was absolutely perfect!
Worst moment of the week: It's been a great week.
Running/Workouts: I worked out a little too hard this week, a lot of leg exercises and a long run turned me into a limping, sore mess. Otherwise, running has been good. Less than two weeks left until the half marathon - YIKES!
Missing anything: No
Movement: No
Things that make me queasy: Nothing has changed in that department, same smells and foods nauseate me.
Energy level: Feeling okay - but still get to bed pretty early (okay, embarrassingly early) most nights
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding ring on or off: On
Mood: Fat - I know that's not really a mood, but man I feel like a whale
Looking forward to: Halloween next week - it's so exciting because Harper understands more and can say "trick-or-treat" this year!
Something surprising about being pregnant with baby #2: During our 12 week ultrasound last week, this little babe was measuring a full week ahead! I feel so blessed and so lucky for her to be growing so perfectly and for things to be going so smoothly thus far. Hopefully she doesn't decide to get too big in there though...

Baby #2 is a....

GIRL

12 weeks (baby #2)

How far along: 12 Weeks!
Maternity clothes: Been rocking my maternity cargo pants
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Insomnia sucks.
Best moment of the week: We had a fun weekend in Tallahassee celebrating FSU's homecoming. I also won an award from the College of Nursing as a Distinguished Graduate. Pretty surreal that I was chosen, such an amazing experience. Unfortunately Harper doesn't really understand the concept of being quiet during an awards dinner, so Phil had to take her out before I accepted my award and gave a speech. I was so sad they missed it, but grateful someone at my table recorded it so they could watch it later.
Worst moment of the week: On our drive back to Orlando from Tallahassee, my nausea got pretty bad - add that to some carsickness and wouldn't you know it, I threw up all over myself in the car. Not fun.
Running/Workouts: Running has felt great, but wasn't able to workout while out of town this trip. We were busy enough though to feel like I got a workout in each day though!
Missing anything: No
Movement: No
Things that make me queasy: It gets really bad when I let myself get too hungry. Unfortunately, snacking all the time isn't doing my weight a favor, but at this point I choose to feel better than to feel sick.
Energy level: This weekend really took it out of me, I am exhausted and it's only Monday.
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding ring on or off: On
Mood: Excited
Looking forward to: FINALLY announcing our pregnancy later this week!!!!! And our ultrasound on Tuesday!
Something surprising about being pregnant with baby #2: I am only 12 weeks along, but I am so terrified about being a mama to two little babies. I feel like most days, I barely get by with keeping Harper alive...and in about 6 months we're gonna be responsible for two human beings. The thought alone is terrifying!

11 weeks (baby #2)

How far along: 11 Weeks!
Maternity clothes: Well...the box came down. I forgot how damn comfortable maternity cargo pants are!! So much for making it until my second trimester...
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: I stopped taking Diclegis as my nausea hasn't been so bad - but now I'm waking up in the middle of the night and having a hard time falling back asleep.
Best moment of the week: Our genetic screening blood work came back this week - and everything was perfect! Low risk for genetic anomalies! We also found out the sex....stay tuned!!!! We also took pictures to announce our pregnancy this weekend! They all came out so wonderful, can't wait to share them!
Worst moment of the week: This has been a good week!
Running/Workouts: Working out is the same - mostly good days, some bad.
Missing anything: No
Movement: No
Things that make me queasy: Nothing new. So thankful the nausea is getting better! But the aversions are still pretty strong
Energy level: Some days I feel great - others days I can't make it through without a nap.
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding ring on or off: On
Mood: Excited
Looking forward to: Traveling to Tallahassee this weekend for FSU's homecoming!
Something surprising about being pregnant with baby #2: I know I've already mentioned this, but I can't believe how much I'm already showing! I absolutely love having a bump....but....I know my uterus is just about at the top of my pubic bone. So I have a hard time really calling is a "baby bump" because in reality, there's no baby where my bump is. Trying to enjoy and embrace these changes nonetheless!

10 weeks (baby #2)

How far along: 10 Weeks! YAY for double digits!!
Maternity clothes: No, I made a vow not to get my old box of maternity clothes down until the second trimester...!
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: It really is quite embarrassing how early I go to bed...
Best moment of the week: Not pregnancy related, but this week Harper pooped in the potty for the first time!
Worst moment of the week: Everyone at my job is on to me. While I understand their harmless curiosity as to if I'm pregnant, I also think we should respect a woman in her decision to tell people she's pregnant when she's ready. I work in labor and delivery for goodness sake, we all know that most women prefer to wait until the second trimester to tell people. It's also surprising to me how many people seemed to be interested in my reproductive system.  Maybe it would help if I reminded them that our first journey down this road was long, and hard, and painful. Or perhaps if I told them that this go around wasn't a walk in the park either, and we spent four months crying over yet another failed cycle. Or that trying for baby number 2, and getting negative pregnancy tests after negative pregnancy test brought back all those painful memories of infertility and I found myself crying myself to sleep most nights. So yes, while their inquisitions are innocent, I think we all should be a bit more cognitive of what that question might do deep down to a woman.
Running/Workouts: Running feels good - 5 weeks until my half marathon, which is terrifying!
Missing anything: Skinny jeans
Movement: No
Things that make me queasy: Same things - but lately I've really been into fruit, oranges and orange juice!
Energy level: I'm feeling pretty good...by 8pm I'm ready for bed, but during the day I feel a little better.
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding ring on or off: On
Mood: Impatient  - come on 12 weeks!
Looking forward to: Taking pictures this week to announce our pregnancy!!!
Something surprising about being pregnant with baby #2: I have been able to find this little babes heartbeat with my home doppler since about 7-8 weeks. It was really difficult at first, but lately I can find it almost instantly! That heartbeat is music to my ears!
