26 Weeks

How far along: 26 weeks - less than 100 days left to go!!
Maternity clothes: Yes
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Sleep is still okay
Best moment of the week:  Mini "Babymoon" in Clearwater Beach, Florida. Currently still here and loving the sun, water and relaxation
Worst moment of the week: My horrible work schedule - Working six out of eight 12 hour shifts this past week. Exhausting doesn't even begin to describe it! BUT now I'm enjoy a week off!
Running/Workouts: Running is still doable - difficult but totally doable
Missing anything: Corona light with a lime, especially on the beach
Movement: Sooooo much this week! And I now feel it throughout the day. I've even been able to press down where I felt something and she's kicked right back! Seriously, I've never experienced anything as amazing as her movement
Cravings: Still watermelon
Energy level: Pretty good, but crash hard everyday in the early evening
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In.....but my laparoscopic scar which was inside my belly button is starting to come out...but it's probably my favorite scar because it got us here, so it doesn't bother me in the slightest!
Wedding ring on or off: On
Mood: Happy, emotional at times
Looking forward to: Enjoying the rest of my time off from work
Something surprising about being pregnant: It's mind blowing to me how much parenting advice I've received lately. People (and surprisingly most of them strangers) see that I'm pregnant, and without solicitation start giving me parenting tips. "First baby? Well enjoy your quiet time now because it will never be the same", or things along the lines of "Enjoy getting your nails done now because once the baby is here, you won't be doing that anymore". I wouldn't say it bothers me, but rather I am just kinda surprised how often it happens. I will say that I am well aware our lives are about to change in a way that nothing or no one can prepare us for....and I can't wait!

25 Weeks

How far along: 25 weeks
Maternity clothes: All day, everyday
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Sleep has been a little better
Best moment of the week:  SO many this week! Getting the nursery put together! Passing my 1 hour glucose challenge (no gestational diabetes for me!) Seeing a sun halo! Getting a surprise gift (most adorable FSU onesie, tutu and headband) from a very lovely friend from Instagram! Feeling so blessed!
Worst moment of the week: Drinking the glucola for my glucose challenge....and how miserable I felt afterwards for the rest of the day
Running/Workouts: Workouts were pretty good this week. Still racking up 5 miles each day, or 2 miles and then 60 minute spinning
Missing anything: Not really
Movement: Yes! We're actually able to see her move from the outside and can feel it occasionally if you place your hand on my belly!
Cravings: Watermelon
Energy level: Same hit or miss
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding ring on or off: On
Mood: Happy....but with lots of irritability
Looking forward to: Having a week off of work (after working 5 out of the 6 next days)
Something surprising about being pregnant: I don't know why I'm surprised by this, but I have been experiencing heartburn for the first time ever. At first I was unsure if it was really heartburn, but now I'm sure. And yep, it sucks.

Glucose challenge - Yuck!

Thanks Audrey!! How cute is this!!

Nursery: PART ONE

I literally have to pinch myself almost daily these days. Just being pregnant is still so surreal. Now we're actually buying baby things, registering at places like BabiesRUs and Buy Buy Baby. And the most exciting part of it all....Decorating the nursery! I've never been big on interior design. I mean, I like things in our home to look nice, I don't like clutter. But that's about it. As for the nursery, well I've been planning that since childhood! And now it's actually happening.

First off, we all the know the baby won't actually be in the nursery for at least a couple months. We can't thank our friends Jen and Xavi (and Jen's grandma) enough for making this custom FSU bassinet for our bedroom! Seriously, how amazing is this!!

Phil and I have three guest bedrooms in our home, and we always knew which room we'd use if we had a girl. The "Princess Room".  It's rounded, has a very high ceiling (as in 13+ feet high) and just screams little girls room. So once we found out this baby would be a girl, we got to work.

We started out by painting all the walls pink. The beautifully awkwardness of the rounded room and huge windows made it challenging to have an accent wall or design. We don't really have a theme, just mixing pink and grey, therefore stuck with pink as the wall color. I must give a HUGE shoot out to Phil...he taped up the entire room, and painted all the top detailed portions!!

As I said the room has a very high ceiling. As well as this perfect little round center for something special. Phil and I both liked the idea of clouds on the ceiling. My naive mind thought I could certainly get up on the 6 foot scaffolding and paint clouds on the ceiling 5.5 months pregnant. WRONG. Not only would Phil not let me, but I could not reach the ceiling on the 6 foot scaffolding, but I'd have to stand on a step ladder just to reach, and at 5'6" I'm not short by any means. Therefore we hired an amazing muralist to come and paint the ceiling. We couldn't be happier with the results. We added the gorgeous chandelier from Restoration Hardware Baby and were completely blown away with the final results!

Clouds in progress

(Phil pretending to be the muralist....
aka adding touch ups!)

Finished product!

Once the painting was done it was time for the real fun stuff...Furnishing the room! Thanks to my amazing in-laws we are on our way to putting together a dream nursery of mine! The crib and bedding is from Pottery Barn Kids. We also have a dollhouse bookshelf and changing table also from Pottery Barn Kids on back order until about June! Glad we ordered it all when we did! Thanks to my Mom, we lucked out and she snagged the glider from Buy Buy Baby this weekend for almost half off for us. Down from about $600 to $300 then a 20% off coupon! The rug is from non other than Target!

Overall the room is coming together nicely. I still want to add some accents to the walls, drapes, and of course get the changing table/dresser and bookshelf in. I'll post updates once more finishing touches have been placed!

The more we get things together for the nursery, the most I begin to think of the reality of the situation. We are indeed putting this room together for an actual person, who in about 3 months will move in and be living in this room! Again, I just have to pinch myself.

PaintCrib. Changing table. Bookshelf. Rug. Chandelier. Stuffed elephant. Stuffed lamb. Stuffed bunny. Stuffed lion. Glider (not available on the their website), but it's called Little Castle Serenity Glider in Manhattan Wheat.

24 Weeks

How far along: 24 weeks! Officially VIABLE!
Maternity clothes: Oh yes! Even though they're not very flattering on me, I LOVE my maternity leggings!
Stretch marks: Not yet, still using Bio-Oil and Mustela cream daily
Sleep: Sleep has been better this week
Best moment of the week:  Reaching viability! When I found out I was pregnant I calculated when I would be 24 weeks along. Even though I pray she stays in there for at least another 14 weeks, it's nice to know if she were born today she would have a fighting chance at survival! Especially at the amazing hospital I work for, Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies. I'll stick to what I know as a labor and delivery nurse, but those NICU nurses are angels taking care of God's more precious, tiny gifts.
Worst moment of the week: Morning sickness reared its ugly head randomly one morning before work. Mid-breakfast everything came back up....not fun
Running/Workouts: I swear my workouts are bipolar. They sure aren't getting any easier, but I was able to run 5 miles twice this week, the most I've done in a long time
Missing anything: Nope
Movement: Yes! Still just at night, but one night in particular she was super active! Loving every moment of it!
Cravings: Salads and Blue Poweraid Zero
Energy level: Hit or miss, overall feeling pretty good
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding ring on or off: On
Mood: Happy
Looking forward to: Getting the nursery put together! The painting is done, including the cloud mural on the ceiling!
Something surprising about being pregnant: I must say I'm a little surprised how fast it's starting to go by. Not telling anyone until 12 weeks was the longest 12 weeks of my life. Since then, the weeks seems to be flying by! While being pregnant hasn't been super easy, I admit I will miss having this little person inside of me once she's born

23 Weeks

How far along: 23 weeks! ("Winnie Viability!!")
Maternity clothes: Yes. Soon I'm gonna need to look into maternity workout clothes!
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Sleep has been rough this week due to a cold
Best moment of the week:  My 28th Birthday!
Worst moment of the week: Back to reality and back to work after a week off in the Caribbean....and having a head cold all week. Talk about rough!
Running/Workouts: Went from having amazing workouts and runs last week to the hardest and roughest runs this week. Very sad to think my running days might be coming to an end...or a glacial pace. I will be looking into a belly band, hoping the support will help!
Missing anything: Being able to take any medication needed when sick
Movement: Feeling a little bit each and everyday! Still usually only at night when I lay down
Cravings: Watermelon
Energy level: Been pretty exhausted this week probably more due to the cold
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding ring on or off: On
Mood: A little emotional this week
Looking forward to: Feeling stronger and more frequent movement!
Something surprising about being pregnant: This is kind of a repeat - but holy cow I cannot get over how much a woman's body changes throughout a pregnancy. I work in Labor and Delivery, I know what term pregnant women look like. I just don't know what they looked like before they got pregnant and how much has changes. My tummy is starting to get hard. I can feel the outline of my uterus - WOW is it big! And it's only going to get BIGGER! Within the month the baby is gonna DOUBLE in size! (Let's hope I don't do the same!!) As much as it can be hard to accept the changes in my body, I still marvel at the miracle happening within and it's not so bad at all. It's actually pretty miraculous!
