On March 2, 2014 we threw a party for the baby to find out if we will be having a boy or girl! Gender reveal parties are the thing to do nowadays! Whether it be with pink or blue filled cupcakes, balloons or many other creative ideas, it's exciting to find out what the baby will be surrounded by friends and family.
We decided to go with pink or blue balloons for our reveal. The idea was to get a huge box, decorate it, then drop it off at Party City to be filled with balloons. We gave the the sealed envelope that held the secret, Boy or Girl, to the employees and explained that we wanted the entire box filled with either all pink or all blue, depending on what was in the envelope, and that they all should fly away when the box is opened. They assured us they would do a good job.
Well they didn't.
Long story short, they filled the box with BOTH pink and blue balloons, with one measly little balloon that said "It's a Girl". None of them flew away as they were all strung and twisted together. Talk about confusing. The first color I saw was blue - "Yay, It's a BOY! No, wait, there's pink in there too?! Umm, is this a joke? Is it twins? No way. What's going on. What is it!?" When we finally saw the "It's a Girl" balloon we realized it really was a girl! At that moment, I was way to excited, thrilled, overwhelmed with joy and love to be upset. We did however speak with party city, and were refunded for all the balloons.
The rest of the party was wonderful! Everything was, of course, Pink and Blue....candies, plates, napkins, drinks, cotton candy, banners, etc. And we are so grateful for our friends and family who came to celebrate with us. What a true blessing it is to have these people in our lives to support us and share in our joy. I still have to pinch myself to believe this is all really happening. That I'M actually the one who's pregnant having a gender reveal party! It's so surreal.
With the news of a precious baby girl comes the fun stuff....SHOPPING! So excited to go completely overboard with pink, bows, headbands and shoes! <3
Also, a special THANK YOU to our good friends Marlyn and Reggie of Photo de Chavannes for taking such wonderful pictures on this day!
Redo with just pink ;)
